About CNA Certification

NURSE AIDE REGISTRY

The Omnibus Reconciliation Act of 1987 (OBRA) mandates that all nurse aides working in long-term care facilities must be evaluated to determine competency.

COMPETENCY EXAMINATION

The Nursing Assistant competency exam is broken into two parts, a written portion, and a skills demonstration portion.

The cost of the exam is $35 for the written portion and $35 for the skills portion.

Applicants may retake either portion three times.  If either portion is failed three  times, the student must repeat the entire training.

Examinations are given at a variety of locations and times throughout the state.

For General information about the State CNA program, including test tips and schedules, go to the web site at: www.utahcna.com

At the end of your training you will receive a form indicating that you have completed the training.

You mail this form to:

Utah Health Technology Certification Center
550 East 300 South
Kaysville  UT  84037
(801) 547-9947

and they will provide you with a voucher and a list of testing locations from which you can choose to take the exam.
